Project Brief

The park spans over 1,000 acres and features a variety of attractions, including the world's largest aquarium by water volume, a 5d cinema, and numerous themed zones such as Polar Horizon and Lost World. It has since become a major tourist destination, attracting millions of visitors annually.

Project Innovation/Need

1. World's Largest Aquarium
Guinness World Record: It holds the record for the largest aquarium by total water volume (over 48.75 million litres).
Massive Acrylic Viewing Window: One of the world's largest acrylic panels gives guests a panoramic view of whale sharks, manta rays, and more in the Whale Shark Exhibit.

2. Integrated Theme Park and Resort Model
Chimelong Ocean Kingdom is part of a larger integrated resort, including:
Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel
Entertainment, dining, and shopping facilities
A focus on multi-day tourism, similar to Disney or Universal destinations.

3. Advanced Marine Life Support Systems
Cutting-edge life support and water filtration systems allow the park to safely house species like whale sharks and belugas.

4. Immersive Themed Zones and Storytelling
Highly detailed zones such as Dolphin Cove, Polar Horizon, and Ocean Avenue immerse guests in marine ecosystems with both entertainment and educational content.

Design Challenge

Use of advanced animatronics, projection mapping, and synchronised sound/light to enhance storytelling.
