Project Brief
Stripping away unnecessary embellishments, the jacket embraces clean, sleek lines and purposeful functional segmentation to achieve a minimalist, stylish aesthetic. Inspired by the hardy pine trees that stand resilient in high-altitude wilderness, its design embodies their enduring strength and weather resistance—qualities echoed not just in its performance, but also in its form. Its silhouette mirrors the pine’s upward growth, merging functionality with a refined look that meets diverse style needs. The color story draws on China’s majestic landscapes: Cinnabar Green from Abujicuo, Dark Bud Green from Kangrinboqe, and Snowcap Gray from Sapu Sacred Mountain. More than a color palette, it’s nature reimagined for modern life.
This jacket integrates thoughtful innovations for real-world performance. Its dynamic cut is informed by sports biomechanics, featuring 3D tailoring and underarm gussets for both comfortable layering and free movement. Its ergonomic 135° sleeve pitch and articulated shoulder-sleeve construction provide a greater range of motion during intense activities. The optimized Napoleon chest pocket works with backpacks and harnesses, keeping your essentials secure and accessible while using body heat to curb battery drain in cold conditions. Furthermore, the RECCO® rescue reflector and Cohaesive® multi-axis cord system deliver trusted safety and intuitive operation in demanding conditions.
Project Innovation/Need
The jacket features the world’s first eco-friendly RESIBRANE membrane, renowned for its exceptional wash durability. It retains over 95% of its waterproof performance after 30 washes, with a hydrostatic head exceeding 20,000 mm—far surpassing the industry standard, where performance typically declines after just 5 to 10 washes. This innovation significantly extends the jacket’s lifespan, which means less resource waste and fewer carbon emissions from frequent replacements. So, you get durable, reliable waterproofing while making a lighter environmental impact.
Sustainability is embedded throughout its lifecycle. The fabric is made from Sorona® bio-based fibers, sourced from plants that regrow year after year. This significantly reduces carbon footprint compared to synthetics. Color is locked in through solution dyeing, a process that uses far less water and generates fewer carbon emissions than conventional techniques. The entire production is PFAS-free, eliminating persistent environmental pollutants. Even the trim components—including zippers, tapes, drawcords, labels, and printed/embroidered elements—are made from recycled materials, so the jacket can be fully recovered and reborn in a true circular system.
Design Challenge
Traditional outdoor jackets often prioritize function at the expense of style, leading to bulky silhouettes and uninspired aesthetics. This design flips that trade-off on its head—delivering pro-level performance without compromising on fashion.
The solution lies in thoughtful minimalism: unnecessary details are stripped away to highlight clean, fluid lines and purposeful functional segmentation. Thoughtfully placed contrasting zippers and structural details add visual interest while serving real-world utility, proving that practicality and modern style can coexist.
Complemented by a nature-inspired color story, the jacket doesn’t just meet the demands of the trail—it elevates everyday outdoor wear into a statement of refined, intentional design.
Sustainability
Materials: The primary fabric is made with Sorona® bio-based fibers, sourced from plants that regrow year after year. This reduces carbon emissions by approximately 37% compared to conventional synthetic fibers. Moreover, the solution dyeing technology cuts water consumption by about 30% and lowers carbon emissions by roughly 25%, further reducing overall environmental impact.
Manufacturing: The jacket is finished with advanced PFAS-free waterproofing technology, eliminating per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances—so-called “forever chemicals” widely used in traditional DWR treatments. These persistent compounds resist natural degradation and pose long-term risks to ecosystems and human health. By removing them at the source, this jacket protects both the planet and the people who wear it.
Trim Components: Even the smallest components—like zippers, seam tapes, drawcords, labels, and printed/embroidered elements—are made from recycled materials. Statistics show that producing one jacket recycles approximately 200 grams of waste material, equivalent to keeping 150 grams of plastic out of the environment.
