Project Overview

As a multi-purpose hand lamp dedicated to the groups like tunnel maintainers, petrochemical workers, and electrical operators, this product excels in high brightness, robust protection, and versatility. It features a three-light design, combining 30W high-power beads and triple light-concentrating technology for long-range illumination. Such a practical design not only achieves simultaneous lighting in three directions, but also serves with multiple functions such as a warning light and an emergency strobe mode. With a single charge, the hand lamp can provide up to 24 hours of continuous lighting. These features make the hand lamp a portable high-power lighting solution for low-light environments, flammable and explosive places, and nighttime operations.

Project Brief

To avoid potential risks, open flames and thermal light sources are strictly prohibited in environments such as power plants, railways, tunnels, petrochemical facilities, and areas with explosive gases and dust. Head-mounted lights and conventional hand lamp often fail to meet the high-performance requirements in these professional settings, letting users down because of their low power, limited functionality, low battery endurance, and poor adaptability. In response to these challenges, the design team was tasked to develop a high-power hand lamp for the application in these challenging scenarios, offering enhanced convenience, strong functionality, and excellent environmental adaptability.

Project Innovation/Need

- Outstanding Optical Performance: This hand lamp stands out with its three-light design that combines 30W high-power beads and the triple light-concentrating technology. This setup achieves long-range lighting, accurate light color restoration, and helps to reduce eye fatigue during extended periods of focused visual tasks. The right side emits far floodlit with a 180°ultra-wide angle, and the left side provides near-floodlight, with its illumination area is increased by 40% due to the frosted cover for light scattering.

- Robust Protection: This hand lamp has a one-piece aluminium alloy shell that can resist the impacts caused by the explosion and fall. It also features a bionic fish-skeleton structure for heat dissipation, increasing its heat dissipation area by 90%. This design effectively reduces internal heat accumulation, protecting the beads from aging and damage caused by overheating. Further enhanced with an IP66 protection rating and WF2 corrosion resistance, the hand lamp can withstand various harsh environments, promising a longer and reliable service life.

Design Challenge

To address the primary challenge in achieving both stable lighting and safety warnings in complex and challenging scenarios such as construction sites and emergency rescues, the hand lamp is equipped with powerful magnets at the bottom, allowing it to securely attach to iron pipes, metal panels, or other metallic surfaces. This hands-free feature ensures stability and convenience in both outdoor and construction settings. The rear warning light is highly visible, providing clear alerts to nearby vehicles and pedestrians in low-light or adverse weather conditions. In case of an emergency, users can quickly activate the strobe mode by pressing the front light button for 2 seconds. This high-intensity flashing effect can attract attention from a distance, guiding rescuers for timely assistance.

This hand lamp offers a safer and more user-friendly lighting solution for operations in tough environments like power plants, railways, tunnels, petrochemical facilities, and areas with explosive gases or dust. In emergencies, the rear warning light and the front tube's strobe mode can be quickly activated, providing clear guidance and gaining valuable time for rescues. These safety features demonstrate a commitment to human-centric care.

With a single charge, the lamp offers up to 24 hours of continuous lighting, eliminating the hassle of frequent recharging and lowering power consumption. It also doubles as a mobile power bank, adding practicality by minimizing the need for multiple devices and cutting down on resource waste.
