Project Brief
As China’s leading integrated supplier of office and learning product solutions, Deli Group envisions an office space that supports practical, efficient operations while embodying the company’s core values: pragmatism, stability, focus, and innovation. The design aims to go beyond the popular trend of open, shared spaces, creating a tranquil environment that achieves a thoughtful balance. The space enhances both productivity and serenity by utilizing subtle material contrasts and precision in construction, resulting in a unique office experience.
Project Innovation/Need
The design approach focuses on refined subtraction, removing unnecessary ornamentation to showcase materials and structures in their purest forms. The emphasis is not on decorative elements but on the meanings inherent in the materials and their unique characteristics. Aluminum alloys, eco-friendly wood veneers, and metal elements are used not only for aesthetic harmony but also to explore their intrinsic properties, placing them where their qualities can be most effective. This approach embodies the core intent of the design: to achieve beauty through simplicity and precision.
Design Challenge
Upon entering the headquarters, visitors are met with a striking blend of glass, space aluminum panels, and titanium-plated stainless steel. This interplay of solid and void creates a ceremonial atmosphere that combines understated elegance with futuristic sophistication, providing an intuitive sensory experience. In contrast to the sleek, high-tech lighting of the ceiling, these materials introduce a natural element, achieving a delicate balance between visual and psychological restraint and openness.
In addition to providing space for work experience, there is a small area for contemplation, which plays one of the most exciting and vital roles in the project. The rotating staircase, an architectural highlight, exemplifies the project's ambition. Constructed with oversized aluminum panels, the staircase meets strict flatness requirements while achieving an impressive 5.2-meter unsupported span. This remarkable craftsmanship reflects the Deli Group's commitment to innovation. This space is more than just an office; it serves as a dynamic hub for leading enterprises and cutting-edge products from across China.
Sustainability
The design features Deli’s signature eco-friendly and renewable materials, along with integrated landscape furniture that meets fire-resistance standards. It exudes an artistic and futuristic feel. The use of curved forms lends the space a sleek, modern appeal, while intersecting surfaces and overlapping lines create a sense of rhythm and flow, adding visual depth. Some structural elements are movable, allowing for flexible reconfiguration to accommodate diverse needs and multifunctional use—fostering a playful yet purposeful working environment.
